The Adfil micro synthetic concrete reinforcement portfolio includes a range of high performance monofilament polypropylene fibres marketed under the brand name Crackstop M. These serve as an alternative to crack control mesh. As such, the fibres enhance the surface properties and durability of cementitious products, significantly reducing the occurrence of plastic shrinkage and plastic settlement cracking.
Crackstop fibres are extremely fine, single filaments, cut to various lengths dependent on application, maximum aggregate size considerations and surface appearance requirements. For optimum dispersion and bond within the concrete the fibres are coated with surfactant. Unlike steel reinforcement, Crackstop fibres are not readily seen on the hardened surface, but make for a perfect finish of the final product.
